Convery’s Paintings, have continued to express and reference ‘landscape’ as an idea and ‘the figure’ as an emotional player... our impact on 'arcadia' and the 'bathers' condition, are explored separately and together, initially a painting without judgement... yet the paintings soon find direction, revealing an image only selectively resolved... he says “it just feels wrong, when everything’s right “.

His paintings often combine disparate elements of landscape with dislocated figures, each one vying for pictorial supremacy, contrasting the texture and shape of his protagonists, with spatial and flattened illusion, he juggles his colour and composition with a musical intuition, each painting having a different mood or energy.
